"Barbara and Cyd - It's about time I wrote to tell you how much my son and I enjoyed our visit to "my" old home. Returning to the scene of my WWII days as a girl (10, 11, 12), visiting my old high school, seeing Croton Dam again, and walking through the old town were moments of remembered bliss. Living there was "ideal", as I look back on it.Thanks for saving the house, redecorating it so beautifully, and for providing a relaxing and convenient place for visitors – breakfast was wonderful - blueberry pancakes one day, a cheese omelet with pan-warmed fresh tomatoes the next - a treat. Presents purchased from your gift shop have been received enthusiastically here, along with my album of on-the-spot pictures - many friends and all family have shared the adventure.
You are both generous with your time and interest, and I thank you for that - it seemed that you were the perfect hosts for the returning school girl - Please be good to yourselves - your particular kind of spirit is needed in the world!
